agree ako sa unlimited GPRS usage proposal.. kase ako i spend 2000 for GPRS alone. and yet, i'm not satisfied using it. whichever telco ang mag o-offer ng plan na ganon, i'd make a switch. btw, i use Sun postpaid

@ ex_crusader
as you might have already heard, one of the cellular operators is planning a major "return of the comeback" (or "ang pagbabalik" in Filipino), maybe by next year.
the new digital equipment of that particular operator are already on its way to phils, and if things are going good for them, we will see a new network emerge by 1st half of 2004.
ang tanong ko sayo, are u willing to change your phone if they will offer an unlimited mobile internet surfing plan of some sort? siguro nagtatanong ka, anong "change your phone"? what i mean is, you will have to replace your handset because their network will not be using GSM/GPRS/EDGE/WCDMA technology. instead, they will be using CDMA2000 technology, so that means magpapalit ka ng handset.
ok lang ba yun sa iyo?

globe did rank among the top 3 carriers in asia, but in reality, i think the rankings are based on financial performance, press releases and marketing campaigns. and since i'm not a stockholder in either globe or smart, whoever of the 2 makes more money is of absolutely no interest to me.
however, i've had my globe line for almost 8 years now, and my addict line for almost a year. thus, i feel i can evaluate both carriers quite objectively. so if i could only keep one line and had to choose based on coverage, gprs access and reliability, and cost of ownership, then there would be no question at all. i'd keep the addict line.

i would totally agree with you! i'm not indulging any particular operator, but as you said, on a very objective analysis, addict mobile is really the postpaid brand that would offer best network quality and all.
as for prepaid, TALK 'N TEXT would be better than smart buddy as it offers the same best network quality and coverage yet at a slightly lower price (for calls at least).
that's why i'm hoping that any new network operator will be brave enough to compete with Smart network's quality and yet kind enough to offer rates equal to or less than what Sun is offering right now.
for short, BETTER QUALITY at a LOWER PRICE. =)

@sen
with all you have said about being a globe post paid user(that long 8 years) and being an Addict mobile for a year, i totally agree with you.Have been a smart gold user and just switched recently to their addict mobile and for the time being...so far so good.
As for globe, yes they are profitable and yet they do not give the best service in terms of Customer Service followups/feedback, very limited access to wap sites, free text limited to globe/touch mobile, etc.If they are very profitable, they should have provided the best service for such important value added services. Smart really makes the most out of its value added services to its buddy and gold/addict subscribers.Their customer service mostly never fails me. They really call you back with re to your minor and major queries.Such extra service for me is very important and thus gaining my loyalty in the long term.
