Thankfully sheep shagging died out in Glasgow a while back so SE service centres have moved in that can do the job.

I would think that, since the P800 has been *REPLACED* by the P900, they should issue the CURRENT model as a replacement.

My Nokia 9110 was deceased, and it got replaced by the 9210. Same thing ...(shame, the 9110 was a better phone)

Anyway, I was talking about SE, not Orange care

The only chance of your phone (any, not just P8/900) being replaced with the new model is if the one u had is discontinued. P800 is still available so no chance of a 900 although it would be nice!!

You could have deleted the orange startup and change the orange cover, then you will have no problem of updating.

I took my Orange P900 to the SE service centre in Coventry to upgrade the firmware to try and fix a BT problem. Didn't fix the problem (gone back to onestopphoneshop), but it did de-orangeify the phone a treat!

I tried that one, but they wanted to see proof of purchase which stated it was an Orange Phone. The guy fell out with me cause I tried to pull a fast one !!

CPW do everything by the book (when it suits them)

the problem with vodafone is that when u buy the phone from them the prices are too hight.. now i saw on CPW that iw as getting on a 50 pound contract(600 anytime) for just 150.... i wonder how much would i be paying on vodafone?!!! i would be expecting that it would be around 250+... or at most 200!!.... i always thought of getting it on a high tarrif and then downgrading it later on, but as i've heard u can only downgrade it after 3 months!!! is this true!!!??

Look at the thread for onestopphoneshop - they seem to be the least expensive in the UK at the moment. I agree that Voda charge more, but it's worth it for the lack of hassle with Orange. They might price match on the handset to get your business
