Eh ? I've had my T610 on orange flashed 3 times now. SE guided me to my nearest phone shop (not CFW) to do the deed. Ironically orange said to me that they can't upgrade firmware. Maybe you chose a crap service centre ? Good luck. This message was posted from a T610

Does anyone know, if i get my phone upgraded from R1L to the latest, will it be locked to orange again? As its an orange phone ive had unlocked to use my O2 sim, don't want to have to pay to have it unlocked again!!

i was told you can only get orange updates to it legally and that orange needs special software to get the best use out of it otherwise you won't get as good network cover, thats what they told me, don't know if its just a gimmic.

i got mine updated and they said it was to the latest firmware but they gave me R1L013 which i was quite dissappointed at. dunno if theres a newer upgrade for orange phones?

cpwh only do firmware upgrade for their own customers. I've been the Oxford st cpwh repair center yesterday, the guy asked me a receipt n scan my phone. my pnone is not buy from cpwh so left with nothing again.

Well they must have changed their policy or something because i have had many a non CPW purchased phone updated at their Cribs causeway service centre in Bristol, and they were all on the Orange network. This message was posted from a P900

With regards to maccad, they told you aload of crap about that, T610 will work the same with or without Orange's changes in the firmware.

With regards to CPW and them updating firmware, CPW do not require that you purchased the phone from them but they do normally like to see proof of purchase in document form so they can see its not stolen etc. They also scan the phone and or boxes / receipts just to record the phone make and model and IMEI number.
