He is referring to yet another one of sonyericssons mishaps regarding the small but necessary features. the p900 doesnt have an automatic mode like the p800, so when youre searching, the blue light is going nuts. you might aswell have a neon arrow above your head. the p800 in auto mode allows you to scan without bluetooth being "on". it would only switch on when obexing.

Just thought Id mention I got this error too when trying to bluejack a T610. :/ I have a P900 myself.
(Worked well with a t68 though)

i get this problem every time i try to bluejack a phone i tried to bluejack my makes 8910 and he never had anything come on his screen my phone just said obex error and he was none the wiser we looked in his setting and there was nothing there to allow anything to be sent

Yeah, thats what I'm affraid of. I don't have any other bluetooth phone here to test with, but I'm affraid I get this error even when my phone should be able to bluejack the other phone.
I mean, I think I've met like 20+ Bluetooth phones now and only one of them was successfully bluejacked, the rest gave me the Obex-Error

Sometimes when you detect a phone and before message is sent, the phone get out of range, this will give you OBEX failed message.
