why would you want a longer range for bluetooth? if connecting with your PC, you are going to want to be at your PC, if with a headset the distence isn't going to be greater then 10M from pocket to head.

the only reason i can see with a bigger range is you can leave your phone in your house where there is a reception (if you have a bad reception around your area) and walk around with the head set and the other for bluejackers.

unless someone has a reason?

it'll also may require more battery power?

Exactly! When I'm not in my student digs, I live in the middle of nowhere and if I want to use my mobile I have to leave it in the most awkward places and use my PC's speakers and a mic to make/recieve calls. And because parts of my house are 200+ years old, the walls are made of very thick stone so the standard 10m range is vastly reduced if I leave my PC's room.

Your point about bluejackers maybe wanting 100m is not right though because unless their victim also has a long range phone, there's no point in you having it. And how many phones on the market have 100m Bluetooth? Hell, how many have Bluetooth full stop?

good point, sorry unless the victim has the same phone as the one with the 100m range (i think the Z1010 is going to have this?).

Maybe this reply is a bit obsolete, but I just feel like reminding you that the T610 was released in May of this year. It is not a new phone anymore and there are others out there (and there will be more) that have one or more of the points you call 'failures'. However at the time of release this phone was damned FINE and in fact it is still a most satisfactory unit considering its price.

If you really want a phone having ALL the functions you just described, you need to get yourself a PDA-phone unit asap. You'd need to invest a lot more money than you did for your T610 tho.

In any case I don't see the point of coming out telling everybody what is wrong with an 'older model' phone anyway. I am sure if you looked around you'd be able to find a phone that has sufficient features to fulfill your desires.

So get that wallet out and buy one.

Production of the T610 started well over a year ago, so it was designed 'ages ago' in telecom-time

No need to get all worked up about it! Posters in this thread are not so much complaining about the T610 as commenting on how it could have been a little better with hindsight. After all, aren't these forums about discussing our phones?

You're right in that no one should be expecting all the traditional PDA features in the phone, but I maintain that 2MB of memory is still stingy of SE, and an FM radio would have been a nice (and cheap) inclusion bearing in mind the market sector that this phone is aimed at. Also, don't you agree that phones which have Java implimentation should at least be compatible with the features of most of the Java applications, and that they should run smoothly?

hey guys I think if the T610 came out with everything you guys wanted then you'd all be complaining about how fat, heavy and ugly SE made the phone....
