shorty: that O2 deal is pretty much what I was gonna do but on Orange, for more money. Where is that deal to be found ?
If so, maybe the future won't be quite as bright, but it'll take on more of a watery blue tint

I was in Crawley (don't live there) yesterday and popped into their O2 shop - and was advised £275 on a £45 tariff is the best they can do...
Have ordered from OneStopPhoneShop and am still waiting. Their current excuse is that the batch was recalled due to hardware (firmware?) problems... still, @ £69 on £50 Orange tariff for 4 months I shouldn't complain (but I do anyway).

I got Mine from Carphone warehouse In manchester on Saturday, Bought it Sim free, had no problems I did have to shop around to find a carphone warehouse that had it in stock, but just asked the first shop which was closest shop to here that has one in.

gave up waiting! (ordered (and paid) for mine saturday a week and a half ago). Cancelled the order and got a HP Jornada 928 brand new + boxed sim-free from ebay for £155. Don't have to worry about taking out a new contracts, more memory, Windows CE (which I already use & like), a viable memory upgrade slot. No camera
but camera add-on only £40 new. No Bluetooth (no problem for me). More of a PDA than phone really.
Can live with it for now until the Z1010 comes out next year then its drops in price a bit.
Can't hang around waiting forever for Sony-Ericsson.
Sodd's law says that when I phoned to cancel the order, OneStopPhoneShop said it would only have been a couple of more days. You can't win!

My Orange P900 reboots itself quite frequently
There's definitely a problem, but it looks like not everyone is affected...
