We'r not disputing what the firmware update will do and we dont need any noob FAQ. Yeah, ive sent hundreds of blank sms! atleast with the firmware update the phone is faster so you get a better chance to cancel the blank sms. How will they know if the phone has been opened? ive taken mine appart loads of times and i cant see any seals that have been broken by taking it appart ar anything infact.

I know this isn't a cure, but when your at home, if you have a bluetooth or IR or cable which you can connect to your phone use floats mobile manager. At least that way you could send messages without accidently sending blank ones edit your phonebook etc without having the problem of the phone accidently double clicking. I know that isn't a cure but I suppose it might help until you got the joystick cleaned and sorted out at a service centre. Hope that helps.

I have the exact same problem on my T610. I've kept my phone dust-free and it's in perfect condition...

I've tried my brother's and friend's T610, and I found it really hard to get a double-press on their select buttons (although they did it eventually). Their phones were dusty and scratched to bits!

I can't be bothered trying to get Orange to replace it - they'll probably send me a crappy reconditioned one instead - No thankyou!

Yeah, thats a plan davieboi. Kinda weird that so many have got this problem but ive never seen it discussed here before. Plus, you noticed how almost everyone who has the problem is from the uk?? Think we'r having our pants pulled down here and being given dud phones!

Well I aren't having the problem personaly, I was just suggesting a work around kind of soloution until you sort it out. Could it be a specfic shop in the UK or network u got your phones on, I got mine from the orange website and my phone has worked perfectly no problems.
