Free on YP1000, but the billing date was same as delivery date so no drop until end of first month which means instead of imediate drop to CSD @£10 a month it stays on £95 plan for one month, so instead of £130 it will be £205.

Surely most people know the deal by now, but i bet we will all pay for this in the end as all companies really do start to implement those penalty charges, left, right, and centre for changing down tariffs before the minimum period, so do it while you can, coz it aint gonna last forever now that most people have knowledge of this information.

I had an interesting experience on the day I bought my P900. I went to TWO seperate Orange shops on Oxford Street and they both said they are not selling the P900 due to software problems. I said to myself "screw this" and bought one from CPW in Selfridges. It was the last one they had lol
I came home and called up Orange CS and asked about this "recall" and they said there was no such thing. It was probably a ploy by the Orange sales team to prevent people (like myself) from buying the phone elsewhere since they had run out of stock.

Dazultra2000 is spot on ppl.
The P900 hasnt been withdrawn from sale, its merely very hard to hold of one on Orange due to supplier issues and the fact that one batch was faulty.

@pachy - what CPW tell you & do are 2 different things
They may not claw subsidy back, but they are such a cowboy company they probably don't realise they are losing money anyway!
Alot of 'other' dealers DO claw subsidy back & if CPW don't, then good luck if u get a free/cheap handset from them. Just don't be surprised if you do get a bill for the cost of the handset, thats all.

@switchbitch
I absolutely laughed my nuts off at the phones4u picture.......I bought my P900 from them.....(more fool me) and a bigger group of shaven monkeys I have yet to meet. Hope your friend doesn't work at the Peterborough branch. Especially if he's the one with tatoos all over his hands and arms....(alarm bells should have been ringing !!!!)
@everyone
Whatever you do, never ever ever purchase anything from phones4u !!!.....Slapdash and comical are the only words I can use without launching into a torrent of gutter mouth about them......All the salesmen are dressed in business suits.......but, and here it comes.........A turd dressed in a suit........is still a turd.
Makes me glad to be English (we are so lucky to have "customer service" and "customer satisfaction" that must be the envy of the rest of the world. I have heard a rumour that phones4u are about to rebrand themselves......their chosen name in my mind should be "Trotters Independent Traders" - Rodneys the lot of em !!!

Thanks for the replies.
Assuming Dazultra2000 is right then the staff in the Orange shop are lying with a view to prevent me avoid and other consumers going elsewhere for a P900. I will let you know what Customer Services have to say!
BTW are CPW selling the P900 as an upgrade and if so is it always the case that you will get a better upgrade deal from an Orange Shop rather than a dealer?
Thanks

@orangeman, the dealers who claw back, have that in their contracts,
CPW dont have anything about staying on a tariff in their paperwork,
NEITHER do they state a particular monthly commitment,all it says is you must stay on an Orange contract for 12 months.
What could they possibly sent me a bill for ???,
they would look really stupid wouldn't they, when i asked them to show me WHERE on the paperwork/reciept/contract does it state an actual monthly amount. i have been involved in the legal obligations of retailers contracts with a soliciter friend & one thing i found out is its ALL about what you signed/promised to pay on the contract(or in my case the reciept, as my purchases were on the phone).
I dont just take CPW employees word for things, i look at the TERMS & CONDITIONS to see what i'm signing for.
I havn't got a problem if people like you lack the confiidence to make full use of loopholes, but i must say i wonder why you refer to CPW as cowboys, i have had nothing but good service from them over the years, they offer exellent value & are often the first with a new phone, non of this can be said of Orange shops.
I also have it on good authority that CPW are not even able to see what tariff your on, Orange just "bill them" or "credit them" depending on tariff movement for all the contracts rather than an individual customer basis.
