I can't see anything in the instruction book to say that the battery should be charged for 14 hours, or any mention of charge/discharge cycling.
SE only say to fully charge the batery and that should take about 4 hours.
I did not think you had to cycle charge Li-ion batteries to get a better charge. I thought they were as good as they could be after the second full charge?

Look at the last post here in this thread, it explains why an overnight charge is a good thing. There is a post which I am looking for which is a quote from SE technical support about the number of charge/discharge cycles to fully condition the P900 battery.

Well I did charge overnight in my case. I treat this phone no different to any other or any other li-ion powered device i have ?
So for it to do this is a bit strange ? I think I will ask for a replacement phone just to be on the safe side. My local store said next delivery would be the 6th Jan but couldn't say if a P900 shipment would be in there. However if there was one I would automatically be reserved one as a priority.

Its Ok searching the internet for info on batteries, but my point was that if you buy a p900, take it home and read the instructions in the box, then SE does not tell you to charge the battery for 14 hours or cycle charge it.
