> Locking my Z600
Bookmark topic
I haven't got a z600 to test this out on, but with the T610 when the keypad is locked if you press a button it comes up with press unlock and * to unlock the phone. So lock the z600 via floats mobile manager then disconnect your phone (so its still locked) then try pressing something on your phone and see what message you get telling you how to unlock your phone. Then try that combination to lock the phone once again. However I cannot see why you need to lock a flip phone.

Yo Davie,
Tried what you suggested and this is what happend.
When you activated the keypad lock via fMA on the Z600, it disable the keypad and activate the screensaver. After that all keys are useless. About 2 secs after the screensaver comes on, the screen will go blank. Then all keys are un-usable. When you press on it, nothing comes up, screen still blank.
I can only activate via fMA to unlock the keypad again.
As to why anyone would wanna lock the keypad of a flip phone, I guess it would be to discourage others from take your phone and starts to mess around with it.
Is there any other way to prevent others from just take your phone and playing with it??

They keylock on the T610 doesn't really stop anyone from messing with your phone though. I mean if they have never used a Sony Ericsson before then it might take them a while to figure out how to unlock it but those who are familiar with Se's will just know to click unlock then press *
So I doubt this feature would be much use on the z600 if you wish to stop people playing with your phone.

what he/she is looking for is a way to lock your phone so noone can use it when it's turned on without a password, e.g when the screensaver activates (the clock screensaver) you need to enter a password to get out of the screensaver and use the phone.

A password protected keypad lock is what is needed. So to turn off the keypad lock you need to enter a code, this would prevent people (mates) picking up the phone and messing about with it. This would be a good feature to include in future f/w versions.

Or alternativly keep an eye on your phone, keep it in your pocket, or at work make sure you take it with you if you have to go somewhere. Then there is no real need to protect it. Plus to me having to enter a password to get into my phone everytime I want to send a txt would be a bit annoying.

wouldn't it be possible to make a java/mohpun program that locks your phone?
and then just assign it to shortcut 1?

I don't think that would work because with java apps, all you have to do is hold down the return key and it brings up the banner asking you if you wish to quit the application/game. So even tho the java app might ignore all key presses until you enter a password all the user would have to do is hold down the return key and they could get around the password that way.

Yes I understand that now.
But since FMA can lock the Z600, somehow you can do it manually. It should work...
