Sony took ericsson phones from being the \"volvo\" of cell phones to the \"japanese sports car\" of cell phones and have given nokia a run for their money. Panasonic make excellent products yet their cell phones look outdated and have a spongy menu system. Imagine the panasonic-ericsson p900? There is no way it would compete with the nokia 7700! Be happy people. We own the most stylish and up to date cell phones on the market. We are on honeymoon with a stunning couple!

With Ericsson's expertise on mobile phone and Sony expertise on the fun factor side. We got amazing products that I would say more advance than other competitors.
Regarding the MS Duo, I agree that its more expensive but its also better than others. The downside of course is the size limitation but I have bad Experience with MMC on cellphones.

Let's be fair to Sony / se - they are a huge company(s) with stiff competition not just in the mobile comms market but also other electronic products.
Sadly for you and I (the consumer) Sony / SE are forced to charge competitively high prices for their products and extra software due to their obligations to their shareholders.
Lesser profits mean lower share prices which means risk of buy out from another company - possibly competitor!
I'd hate to see SE become Sonysung or Sonysonic or even Ericsrola!
Perhaps a brand loyalty incentive / recognition scheme is needed to reward us faithfuls with product discount or cheaper software etc?

The Sony that invented the Walkman, and other great things isn't the same as the Sony today. Sony (the main one, not SE) is going down already. Samsung is over taking them...and for a while a couple of years back, Sony was in the red! (What idiots could turn such a successful company into such a poorly run company??!?!)
Honestly, the idiots who ran Sony into the ground now, are the same idiots who are trying to regain market share by enforcing proprietary memory sticks, even though MS technology (even the new MS Pro crap) is inferior to everything else out on the market.
