Sad to say, the only SE phones that doesn't have the annoying SMS delay are the P800/900.

Prior to these 2 phones, the LAST Ericsson phones that didn't have the annoying SMS lag were the GH688 and GF788. Everything after that was like waiting for a snail to catch up to an F1 car.

The current T610/Z600 are tolerable... but far from fast. I have no idea what Ericsson/SE did to their current menu system that the SMS input speed is like the speed limit in the US... SSSSLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWW

The t610's speed have increased alot since the first firmware. I remember that the first thing i noticed with my phone was how slow it was but when i uppgraded to a newer firmware the phone was alot faster.

i've been using T68i for almost 3 years and recently I change my fone with Z600...and I can tell you that there is a big different in speed when typing an SMS... the T68i is so slow...but the speed has increase in Z600, so I think SE has manage to improve the speed of their fone although it is still slower that Nokia

Well,i am not using t9 not cuz it's slow but cuz i type too fast and the t9 slows me down.I've typed thousands of sms' in the last yrs at a time that no predictive input was available. So if u find it slow, just dont use it!try regular typing and exercise2type fast;-) I've used a 6210,a 6310i at some other point and the t9 typing is the same!Cant't c what's the fuss with Nokia typing faster.SEEMS faster...with some 10 nanoseconds faster:-l Get real! Haa, I thought it was just my old firmware, but seems like this is a regular problem with SE and T9. I'm a very fast T9 typer too and most of the time my phone is 2 or 3 words behind and that's very annoying especially when I make an error. Im already three words ahead typing, then I hear the "bling" sound, to find out that I misspeld a word three words back and it doesn't exist in my dictionairy. So most of the time I type words for nothing. Ok, I really have to get this new firmware now to get some beter speed.
