PRODUCT RECALL: CST-13 phone charger
Sony Ericsson has identified a fault with one of its UK 3-pin CST-13 phone chargers and, as a precautionary measure, has activated a process to have all potentially failing units returned.
The charger is manufactured in Thailand by Delta, an external supplier, and has the identification number BML 162 099/3 R1A printed on the socket face, along with "made in Thailand by Delta". The charger has been included with the following Sony Ericsson Phone Models: T68i, T300, T310, T610 and a number of Bluetooth handsfree and other Sony Ericsson accessories. The charger has also been sold separately.
There have been a limited number of incidents in the UK, where a pressure build-up in the charger has caused the top plastic part of the charger to brake off, with the danger of hitting someone. If the charger does break apart, the electronics of the charger may be exposed thereby creating a risk of giving a person touching these parts an electric shock. In such circumstance, there could also be a risk of fire, if the charger is in proximity of flammable material.
Consumers who possess this charger should stop using it immediately, remove it from the socket and contact the Sony Ericsson Customer Care Centre on 0800 587 6072. A free replacement charger will be dispatched, together with a pre-paid envelope for the user to return the charger to Sony Ericsson for inspection.
At Sony Ericsson, product quality and safety is of the highest priority and we would like to offer our sincere apologies to all customers for any inconvenience caused.

Thanks for the recall link Telukin.
That link however refers to the UK version of the charger. I have the US version but just to be sure I am going to contact Sony Ericsson.
I have not recieved the battery yet and the phone is still acting strange. I'll post an update when the battery gets here.
P.S. - I hope it's a decent battery and not a scam or something I got it for about $22 US.

Got my new battery yesterday. It is in fact a genuine Sony Ericsson battery complete with the hologram and in a sealed package.
I have not had a chance to test the runtime on this battery so I don't know how well it works yet. However, I do know that it did not fix the problem that I was having with the charging indicators behaving incorrectly.
Has anyone else experienced the problem where their phone no longer shows that it is charging. The battery seems to charge okay but, the indicator lights no longer turn solid and the animated display that shows the battery charging does not appear. I have tried this with 2 different chargers and 2 different batteries so it must be something with the phone.
Any ideas?

What is going on!? The situation is going from bad to worse.
I performed a Master Reset from the Control Panel. The lights continue to flash as they do during normal operation when the phone is plugged in to AC power. They did become solid as they are supposed to for about 15 seconds. This was followed by very erratic readings of the battery level. First it appeared almost full, then full, then half full, then almost empty, then it died. All in the space of about 2 minutes.
I have tried this phone with 2 different batteries and 2 different chargers. One of the chargers caused a crash immediately upon connecting it to the phone 3 times in a row. Needless to say, I am not using that one any more. Both batteries (Sony Ericsson brand) last about 6 hours tops. This is very strange since the original battery used to last 2-3 days between charges. There have been no configuration changes other than the Master Reset. All settings were restored to their previous state after the reset.
Does anyone have experience with anything like this happening to their P800? If you do, did you fix it?
