dont you have to install software to the phone first

How would I do that, I suppose i'd use the P900 "Install Software" utility but when it doesn't display a phone connected... no go!

Do you need to insert a sim card into it for it to work?

You need to put a sim card in.

If he has a secutrity lock code, the one that comes on when you turn on your phone, then I think your pretty much screwed. If it doesn't on the other hand, then all you need to do is turn it on, sit it in the cradle, and sync away.

Good luck.

Hmm, I know we don't discuss this on esato but what would happen if i blew the code with e.g. div? Does it get to 0000 or won't I have to enter it?

I believe that's hard though, as I don't have div hardware.

well, to get the hardware would probably cost u more than it's worth. But to be honest I wouldn't know, and I dont think you'll find out here. You should try places that sell the equipment.

So you've put a sim card in and you can't connect still? I would say there isn't much you can do. I'm sure u cud get the screen replaced though...? If it's booting but ur just saying it's the screen...

You will be damn lucky to find one. Majority of dud P800's are due to damaged screens!
