Yeah, I was afraid this was the case.
Would have to keep deleting them every time I send and hope T630 (which I'm getting) has option to turn it off (anyone knows?).

The T630 is based on the T610 and my T610 doesn't have the option to turn it off (well at least I can't find it anywhere) so I doubt the T630 has the option.

No it doesn't.
I love SE phones but the absense of this setting sucks big time.

I think that SE put this option to have a backup of our sms and thats all right for the normal users but he you want something more flexible you can always buy a phone with that utility This message was posted from a T300

SE will probably leave saving of sent sms as it is, because if you immediately delete sent message, you dont have back up if it is delivered or not. For example, I am happy that I don't have to delete reports after sending each message... :-) This message was posted from a Z600

The memory is very limited on such models and when phone saves every sent SMS very soon they fill up all space and you become unable to receive any new messages.

you can still receive new messages...when memory is full, it deletes the oldest messages so it can accommodate incoming messages...

Inbox & outbox are stored in different memory. even if your outbox is full, the messages are delivered in the inbox

I find it very convenient as it is.U have to underastand that not EVERYTHING is customizable, this would be very peculiar and chaotic for the customers, and even fot the consumers.

What is the difference between a customer and a consumer of mobile phones?

I remember my T300 used to come up wioth a warning that said my storage was over 80% full.. it did not self-delete the oldest messages....

Not sure how it is on Z600..... I manually delete them by now (old habits die hard)

The auto-storing of sent messages has been in it since my GA628 years and years back and probably in models before that one too so for an Ericsson phone it's nothing unusual, they've always auto saved sent messages.

Still I suppose it wouldn't be hard for them to include an option to disable it, but I wouldn't hold your breath.
