cheers guys for all the comments.
I must say first of all that i am a die hard fan of SE... it's just that i'm bored with the t610... thus looking for another phone to keep me occupied meanwhile SE comes up with another innovative line. I really love my t610 and i think it's still the best phone in the market. it's just a pity that the camera quality is rather poor, even my girlfriend's 7250i takes better quality pics.
I did thought about the V600, having video mode, mp3 player, bluetooth n all that, but then the menu layout of the all Motorola's lines really really sucks. i hate the way u go through the menus.
well, the only downside about the e710 is the voda branding and if what TheRealSpawn said is true, then the connectivity between pc n phone. besides that, i guess i will have to try using a samsung (never tried one b4) and see how it feels using a clamshell phone...
BTW, about the t650... lets get real, it'll probably be out at the end of the year or early 2005.... and i WILL definitely get it if all the rumours are true. then again, having said that, i'm not in the innovator group, so i'll probably wait for all the review and software upgrade before getting it....
anyway, big cheers to all of ya.

Hey guys.
Please we all know that Sony Ericsson are the best- but other phone manufacturers can do good sometimes! Just because motorola were canny shit, doesnt mean the the v600 isnt a great phone! in fact they have had a comeback. . it beats the z600. But t610 beats moto e650. Sony ericsson are the best - but things like mot v600 and sam e710 are great phones. i wouldnt mind one miss uk!
so please - dont comment on manufacturers (except nokia !

), comment on their phones. Sony Ericsson t200 was shit - but the p800 is good.

I work in mobile phones shop and, honestly, I tried all models and brands. I'd like to say that the worst brand in connecting with a PC are Samsung and Panasonic.
I used to have an SGH-C100 two months ago. It's a good phone for a man. Also it has the best polyphonic ring and an amazing display (like all Samsung phones); also, I connected it with a laptop and, GPRS works fine until... it stops: there was nothing which block the IR eye but the message was clear: "Your link is either blocked or the device is moved out of range";
In this morning somebody came to my office asking me to help him in connecting his E700 to his desktop computer via an USB to IrDA adapter. The computer doesn't recognize the phone; not even like an IR device; I think that Samsung uses different protocols like other manufacturer...
So, in my opinion, the best phones for business use are Sony Ericsson and..; not Samsung or other fashion phones.
PS: Z600 is a clamshell phone. I own one and you should try it!
Best regards!

here's an honest review from a die hard SE fan...
finally got my E710 (w/ free 64mb Yepp Mp3 player, not bad...)
I've been playing around with it for the past few days, trying out the functions, PC connections...
Firstly, there wasn't any CD-ROM for connectivity in the box, but browsing through samsung.com soon solved that. it was pretty easy installing and instructions was quite easy as well. personally i didn't find any problems with my notebook irda connection, unlike what is mentioned.
the phone is nice, build quality is solid, metal finishing nice... too bad about the voda logo (will soon get rid of it) screen resolution/quality is excellent, compared with t610, dunno bout t630 though.
functions easy to navigate as well... large memory-9mb... got animated wallpaper, loud ringtones, as compared with t610... VGA camera... video capture w/o sound. compatibility with outlook as well.
CONS: no bluetooth, video capture no sound, standby time not as good as t610, limitations with file uploading from pc, e.g you can upload any midi file to use as ringtone with the t610 but for e710, it must be .mmf and limited to 32kb upload from pc, any larger than that has to be done via wap. Vodafone live SW still sux.... found out that there's no generic firmware to flash (not released yet)... also found out that it's very very easy to flash the phone firmware using the Optiflash software.... will play around with it soon, changing anything from icons to preset startup pic n shutdown pic...
anyway, i'm that sort of bloke who likes to fool around with my phone alot like creating wallpapers, ringtones n all, and i dont really use bluetooth except bluejacking... so that's why i went for the looks of the e710 plus i never in my 10 years of using mobile phone, ever used a clamshell phone properly... last time i used was the motorola v50, it was called something else back then and i only used it for 2 weeks...
well, this will do just fine till the infamous t650 surface!

I'm usin' both T-610 and SGH-E700.My idea 'bout these two great cellphones is that I done use Samsung for calls and T-610 for connection to the laptop but the Sam connects like a dream too.Just miss the BT on it.
