Put the phone in the cradle when you get the message backup now just press no then press no on the second message then click the p900 icon

Gaz dont worry mate you aint the only 1. I just got the phone yesterday mate and i'm having exactly the same problem. I got my phone from orange and i have read that poxy manual and thers jack all about this in it

I can only sync it from the bottom right of the screen(programs running) If i click on the desktop icon it just says not connected, if i go in to the start menu then my options are sync, restore, settings and install software

Gaz, can you see the "My P900" icon on the desktop, it looks like a P900. If it is not there then try the windows search to find it.

yes the icon is on the desktop, but is says the phone is not connected when you double click on it

On the bottom right corner where the wavy lines are a P900 icon should show up when the phone has connected make sure you put the P900 in the cradle tightly as sometimes it dont connect properly
