Size and Weight would be a downside, I guess...

Think you might have a long wait for it to come out on tmobile! But you might be able to upgrade at cpw or the link!

hi mates
Good topic, well i simply luv SE and its products. and when it comes to phone+pda, sony ericsson it the best. I was going for an O2's XDAII, but the size really matter. Yes it is windows based, but man u really have to look business man like to have one...juss kidding, well the size of my palm compared to the P900 it wins with much points to back it up. and it gives me WEB also WAP for a change, with touch screen, one of the best resolution camera inbuilt the phone , and many things i can do with it. most of the time i keep exploring what i can do more on my P900, with the help of the mates @ Esata (one of the best and informative forums i have come across).
And also it plays Mp3 and i can view Mp4 video also, its simply more than great.
PDA functions are kool and with the increasing demads, now the Excel and Word can be edited ,its way kool.
Cheers to all who support SE and mostly P900

Main downsides to the phone as I see it:
Price
MS Duo rather than MMC
That's about it really, it really depends on what you want from your phone for whether it's the right one or not, it is bigger and heavier than a normal phone but I think the PDA functionality it offers easily outweighs this. I was originally going for an SX1, but as it got delayed and delayed, I lost confidence in Siemens and plumped for the P900. Although it is bigger and heavier, I rarely carry my PDA around with me, and it's still perfectably usable as a phone. It lacks a radio, but I plan on correcting that with the HPR-20, the SX1 needs headphones anyway and the HPR-20 has the cool little LCD display, so I don't really lose out not having it. The only other phone I really considered was the XDA 2, does look cool, lots of power and a massive range of apps but when I had a shot of it, it felt like a PPC with a phone tacked on the back, the P900 is the first device I've used which smoothly merges phone and pda functionality.

We heard many positive points about the SE p900 however critisizing does not come second nature as many of you own one. (strange coincidence).
I concluded some negative feedback about the usability and functionality of the phone, the design and appearance is irrelavant as many of u agree that that sony have reused design techniques that exist on the sony clie models.
Bad points:
tedious (if you are using fingers to interact with the interface)
complex User interaction
slow buffer (playback of mpeg 4 - video) low refresh rate 10-20hrz
non-upgradable cpu (mhz)
virtual keyboard - too small
not open sourced
bluetooth bugs
still in the maturity stage of the evolutinary model therefore, another model will probably be relaesed early next year
> PLAIN & SIMPLE
However as your 15 i really dont think that these negative points will really affect your view of usability, usability is such a subjective word, i guess its up to the user if they find it usable or not, not user friendly!!
I cant belive no one has suggested the main advantage of the phone - - from the first stage i.e. p800 the phone was not robust enough, too fragile and delicate. The p900 is very robust, basically its design represents real structure and quality.
hope this helps

LOL @ Welsh! HA HA, that is too true.
Funny tho, before I got my fone, this guy @ work's had a GX20 for a month or two *shrug* ... all he EVER does it talk about it, how good it is, take picures, compare pictures... etc etc... Drives everyone nice loopy. Since I got my P900, all my mates keep winding him up, saying how awesome my fone is, he's since got really quiet about his GX20. Funny stuff...!
Oh, and a couple of people have seen me watching video's, i've flipped the keys back round, and their like, 'its a fone too' ... haha, classic.

a downside for me is that i have to look after it, i am used to using and abusing phones. when i go out on the p*ss i have to take my old phone so i dont lose/break it. it is also a bit big for stuffing in jeans pockets (on its own, not with keys). i bet it breaks the first time i drop it on a hard floor so get insurance
