Have you applied screen protector by any chance? A badly applied screen protector right to the edge of the screen may cause touch screen not to work. Also too much dust around the edges can have simillar effect.

my dear sir have you even thought of going to display through control panel and calibrate screen if you have clicking its responding to your stylus it may well have gone off calibration when you plugged it into charge phone try this and fingers crossed This message was posted from a P800

I hate to sound divvish but have you turned off automatic input lock. After specified time it freezes the screen from input. You have to play with the jog dial to get it going again.

Have you actually tried to remove the screen protector as I suggested...? may be a good idea...

Mine didn't affect the screen at all to begin with, but it is suggested that they take a while to properly adhere to the screen, at such point bubbles ususally disappear...

Try removing it... a bit of tape in the corner, should be enough to life it...then try again...
