Could the problem be coz the fone was lockd to a network previously and your using another networks settings as in my case? And would trying gsm settings be any use?

I just solved this problem. I had been unable to send emails for a month. It kept saying "DND Report: Bad Name" as many of you have already seen. I did a master reset, had sonyericsson.com send the GRPS settings and it worked. I did not do a restore after the master reset, rather I rebuilt the system by synching with outlook and re-installing a few apps. My phone sends flawlessly now. I think the SMTP function can get corrupted or unstable. Master reset worked for me. Tell me if this helps...

Hi
I don't think you need to do a master reset, but certainly deleting all the internet & messaging settings and getting SE to send an auto config always works for me.
I seem to remember having a similar problem with my P800 when I first got it...
cheers,
Helen

I have tried sending new setting from SE site but with no luck, erased settings and reset manually but still getting the same error message!!! any clue?

No matter what I do - the smtp problem still troubles me.
SMTP without authentication works perfect - but as soon as I set ut using a server which require authentication, it does not work.
Could this be due to some header compression - or some special protocol version used on the phone - not comphatible with "the world"?

well even a master reset did not solve my sending problem!!! I think SE should do something about it.

I have a paid yahoo account and have no problems sending and receiving email form the yahoo server. I am on t-mobile and can also send and receive mail from their server. I also have email accounts on other servers and no problem either.
So I don't think it's the phone.
The problem is more likely a combination of ur input settings, ur provider plan, or company server restriction.

I have the same "Invalid To: Cc: Bcc: address" error. I used SE's online email setup and was able to make one of the two email accounts on my phone to send email. I guess the other one I have to call my internet provider for the necessary settings.
At least now I can send email with the other account.
