The Z1010 will not be available in South Africa for the next year or so because our networks don't have 3G licence and the goverment did not offer them.
SonyEricsson should sell the Z1010 1st to networks that have 3G and then to GSM networks all over the world.This will boost there sales because there is no other phone on this planet like the Z1010.
What do you think of this idea?

3G won't start in India before 2005. However, I can use it on GSM networks.

yeah, a few people have commented they will use it for GSM while they wait for 3G but I don't see the point. There is bound to be a newer model by 2005 (in the case of India)
@tedsc456, did you get to try the Z1010 with a GSM call?

Id love to haue the Z1010 on a gsm network because its an ace phone. Even without 3g functions, its still better than most 2.5g fone!

@tdsc
When you are going to try z1010 again you have to take a picture with the camera and send it trough bt to your phone and then post it here. I just have to see the picture quality.

I saw one breifly the other day too, I had a sweedish customer who lived in Portugal who came to buy a vehicle from me, I asked for their telephone numer and she pulled out a Z1010 it was on Vodaphone. I asked her where she got it from and she said Portugal, so it must be available there.
