Further to the discussion on the Opera 6.3 thread, does anyone experience any significant power drain when using SMAN?

Same here, I have always been of the opinion that it saved more battery power than it used up.

Well...SMan's good point is that it closes any unwanted b/ground applications. In that way it certainly saves battery power.

And I believe it's a well written application such that it drains the minimal amount of battery power staying in the background.

But, presumedly, since it IS in the background, it will take up some power anyway? (It might be negligible power, so I don't know). If that's the case, then certainly if you use it to flush other processes and then shut it down your battery will last longer than if you leave it in the b/ground.

Nevertheless I'm still experiencing good battery life with SMan in the b/ground.

I LEAVE SMAN ON IN THE BACKGROUND AND GET 2 CLEAR DAYS FROM MY BATTERY.

If I leave SMan on I get about 1 1/2 days usage before a recharge.

If I turn SMan off after flushing I have had 5 days without a charge needed.

5 Days? Is that 5 days standby or with moderate use?

I have to add my 2 cents worth. I love Sman and have never noticed any extra drain on the battery.

I only get one days life out of my battery but I don't put that down to Sman but to the fact that I'm a very heavy user of the phone in fact I would say Sman saves me battery life.

I wasn't contradicting myself old boy. I was wondering whether or not people experienced a more rapid battery drain even when using SMan. I myself thinkt hat it saves a hefty amount of battery power in closng down apps.
