One thing i have noticed is that everytime i connect my usb cable to a different port (have 4) it always comes up as com port 3. no matter which one i connect to.
Yet it only lists 3 com ports in my phone monitor options.
not sure if this is a problem or not. ive tried connecting to all ports and then using the wizard, but no phone.

Your problem sounds very odd indeed. I would just keep trying it, I used to have a similar problem, whereby my phone wasn't recognised by the connection software. It was very annoying, but I just kept restarting my computer until, eventually, the phone was recognised.

don't use pc suite 2.3
use the earlier version instead, 2.1.1

Hi
I had the same trouble with P900 and the cable, pls try this
1. install the suite watever version it really doesnt mattr
2. the arrows that is the fone connection link double click on it and uncheck the USB COM3 selection
3. then go to control panel choose phone monitor options and disable com port 3. dont think im crazy it will work.
4. go to modems and choose add modem and choose select modem from list, choose sony ericsson frm the left side and Choose Sony Ericsson P900 Series Serial Modem.
5. the pc suite will have the drivers ready
6. then manually go to dial up connection and add a new connection, choose the modem and give the necessary dialup numbers.
get the dial up numbers from ur service provder, and also ask them if the username and the pwd has to be entered.
7. now choose device manager, choose the com port 3 and change the speed to 115Kbps,
8. go to modems again choose the p900 modem and change the maximum speed settings to 115Kbps
now buddy try dialling it should work, do this and get back to me if it still doesnt work, pls tell me the message that u get also.
