i'm haveing similar problems with my Z600. i have sent back and received 3 new cables thinking they were faulty but it just isn't registering that there is a phone connected. i have enabled the com port in mobile monitor but it just won't work. another thing that's weird is the fact that this one i have now is listed in the device settings when the cable isn't connected to the phone, but when i connect the phone, it removes itself from the list. please anyone help, i'm getting so stressed with this, and i've spent a lot of money trying to get it to work.
cheers in advance.

Float's Mobile Agent does not require mobile phone monitor. Have you tried that? What about setting COM port speed to 9600?
You can go into Control Panel -> Phone and Modem Options and let windows detect the phone, and pay attention when it's detecting, to see if it tries to look for the COM port where you attached the cable+phone.

It works just fine for me. That's not really going to help you out, but it might encourage you to keep on trying.
I am using a Dell Dimension 4600i with Windows XP Home Edition 5.1.2600 SP 1.0, floAt's Mobile Agent (fMA) 0.1.0.35 RC5, SE DCU-11 and SE T610.
I can't remember doing any configuration or preparation whatsoever prior to connecting the cable to the computer and the phone to the cable. As I remember it, it was "plug & play".
Ok, to be honest it was some time since I did the connection, so I might just have forgot what I did to make it work...
Good luck anyway!
