You are better off buying a extension socket for the fag lighter cut the wires off and wire pos to ign and neg to gnd then plug the charger into it and hide it behind your dash. I have had trouble in the past when stripping out the charger plugs!
Or if you fancy a trip to South wales we can fit a full sony car kit and speaker by pass unit at the most competative price in the UK

yeah, piece of pi$$. All conections can be made behind the stereo. You might want to get some scotch locks as well to make it really easy for you.
