Yes - my phone previously was Orange Branded. I took it into an Orange Upgrade Centre where THEY flashed it to 162003/8 instead of 162004/*.

This is quite irritating. Did SE do this deliberately?

Doing recovery mode will actually downgrade my functionality since Orange (or other branded firmware) is on average 2 builds behind in terms of bug fixes.

I also have this problem. Swisscom branded. Manual verification accepts CDA. Communication error. No chance even with recovery mode. Frustrating..............

My Phone was always 162003/2 no branding.

And I have this message too.

"Error in communication with the device"

I have try the recovery mode and I have the same message.

I think, it's a bug with Seus 1.15

The CDA and IMEI numbers are read from the mobile device to uniquely identify the product model.

To prevent that mobile devices are shifted during the update sequence, the IMEI number is checked several times during the process.

Quality of Service information is provided

The statistical data is sent from the client PC to the
application server, when the update sequence
stops, where the data is stored in the data base. No

The data contains information about:
• The date of the update.
• The version of the installation.
• The operating system being used.
• The client ID.
• The model of the mobile device.
• The status showing if the update was successful.
• Which customized software that has been
downloaded.

I'm having this problem as well. I decided to wait a while and see if it was the SE web site since so many folks are having the problem.

A month later the situation is still the same for me.

Did anyone else that was having this problem get this to work? Or did everyone give up in disgust like I'm about to?

I bought my phone from SE so I don't see how it can be a branding problem. I have successfully done an online update in the past as well.

Any help would be appreciated.
