I am sorry I misunderstood you. As you said there should have been an option to hide number from the phone book as well or just an option to turn the hide number on until you want ot turn it off.
I send an email last year to SE, when I had my p800, regarding this hide number issue and the inability to record phone conversations, but they just said its not possible on that phone. So I don't think a mass petition will do much good any way. Just my thoughts
