Okay, now im really puzzled Of course I want to save as much money as possible, but it is more essential that I get a good phone which I will be satisfied with and one that will work for maybe a year or so. I do like the P900 more, but im very puzzled about whether or not I need the functions and the improvements of a P900.

How much smaller is the P900?

Do you really notice that the screen has more colours?

Is the MP3-player and the sound quality exacly the same in the P800 as in the P900? How good is it compared to a regular MP3-player (like iRiver or iPod)???

Is the P800 much bigger than the P900, and do you "feel" it?

How well does the P900 play movies compared to the P800? Is there a big difference?

Anything else that the P900 has that you miss on your P800?

I guess im more in the line of getting a P800 instead, thanks to you guys

I should qualify all of this first by stating I don't own a P900, just a P8. I'm just going by my impressions from everything I've read here and elsewhere, and seen once or twice.

It's a few millimetres slimmer in depth, but roughly the same height and width. There's no getting around the fact they're both big phones - jacket pocket size, rather than trouser.

It's brighter and photo's are quite so dithered. Also the P800's slight blue tint is gone. In defence of the P8, it's screen is perfectly adequate for 99% of what you'll probably be doing with it, and is bright and clear itself. It's also readable with the backlight off (in daylight) - not sure if the same is true for the P9, which goes black.

The sound quality on both is excellent. The P900's software is a little nicer to use, and has more media-player like features (track ordering etc) - although similar software is available for the P8, for a little extra money.

I didn't feel it, although that's just my subjective opinion.

I've never seen it play a movie, but I understand it's smoother. The P800 can be a little jerky in fullscreen mode, although the video player built into camcoder is much better.

The only obvious thing - a strange omission on the P8 - is the T9 predictive text on the P900 using the flipped up keypad. Important if you're a texter and want to message one-handed faster, but no dealbreaker for me personally (i prefer to handwrite texts with the flip down). You can still use traditional multi-tap text entry on the P8's keypad if you need to.

I got a P800. No regrets. Had P900 but sold it. Not worth the extra money in my opinion, unless your planning to watch videos on it!

Thanks for all of the answers.. Seams like both of them are great phones.. The thing is that I intend to keep the phone for a year or more, and therefor it is important to me that it will work good, and have all the functions that I need.. In that area the P900 seams as a better choice, don't you think? Still, I am puzzled if I should spend my money on a P900.

The sound quality seams great, but how good is it compared to an iRiver or an iPod?

Anyone of you using MSN Messenger or IRC from the phone?

the p800 is good but the screen is a let down and the no T9 would kill me

btw y dont u think about the n6600 its much cheaper then the p900 and is also good????

If you wanna keep it for a year or more then go for P900. You are going to use it many hours per day and in every seconds you can realize a hug difference of the screens. P900 is soooo much better with itīs 65k color. I have both of them. Then you got the recording of video as well. The camīs picture is in my opinion bad on all phoneīs today.

Maybe that would be the best choice.. I am still curious about how much it would cost to use MSN, anyone know?

Anyone in the position to compare sound quality against iPod, iRiver, iBead or any other MP3-player?

First of all, the screen on the P900 is not just better than the P800. It is MUCH better. You will be able to see a humongous difference between the two screens. I used a P800 after owning a P900 for a month or so (i also had a P800 before) and the P800 screen looked totally washed out. One of my initial problems with the P800 was the poor quality screen.

The flip keybad on the P900 is a massive improvement over the P800. The P800 keypad was plasticy and looked ugly. The P900 keybad looks very professional, is more sold, and is also backlit.

The device is smaller and lighter. Personally I think it looks a lot nicer.

The P900 supports T9 predictive text input in flip up mode. This makes writing sms's/emails much easier with the flip up.

Has more internal memory.

At the end of the day, most of the software and fuctionality of the two phones is the same. However, the P900 has just taken care of all the loose ends that the P800 had. I always think that that P900 is what the P800 should have been at launch. I would forgive the P800 its other shortcommings, but the screen is just appalling compared to the P900 (and most other smart phones out there).
