Hi Wvl:
I'm still don't understand your meaning of using P900 without stereo, the headphone comes with P900 is a stereo already. Or do you mean using the built-in speaker?
Tom

I think I was confused with the speaker
Much better now with things in stereo. Oggsize increased by about 50% though....
But after the first day of listening to music on my P900 I'm pretty satisfied. I think my iPod is going to get dusty.

It comes down to that old egg (no pun intended) of how much one is willing to carry. Personally I carry my wallet and my P900. I try to keep it to this base minimum, however, on occassion I have been known to 'pack some extra heat' and carry my T610 as well.
This is in addition to a paper diary I sometimes carry with me (mostly for business).
If I am out socially I prefer not to carry my wallet or any money at all and take my T610.

I am in the same situation, I had an SE T300 (pretty big), Wallet, keys, Mp3-player (iBead) and was going to get a PDA instead of my paper calendar.. But now im getting a P900 instead, that way I get my calendar, mp3-player and cellphone in one.

Agreed.
I used to have a (gasp!) PPC/Palm - and while the apps on them are truly great (CityTime, Agendus (Palm), Vindigo(!) I miss that badly)
Carrying around a PDA, a phone and an iPod was crazy.
More often than not - I left my PDA at home. Then it was the iPod and the phone (T610). Of late - although I swear by my iPod for a long haul flight - the P900 is great for those morning commutes here in London.
I use moodlogic, have a sony card reader and just generate random music mixes every day for a 128MB Duo card. Stick it in P900 and voila. Since the phone is always with me, I never miss making an appointment.
Very Convenient. The P900 doesn't have the best app support, and granted it's MP3 player cannot compete with the iPod. But 1 device for your business appointments and music is really handy.

it all depends what kind of a music listener you are. if you are content with the same songs for the commute to and back and for a few days, the p900 is fine. audio quality is actually good, not just passable for an all in one device.
but if you are choosy about what music you listen to at different times/places, then theres no way anything can beat an ipod.
if the p900 wants to come close, se will just have to release those goddamn gigabyte msduos. and of course such size support on the p900 ms slot to go with it.

Masseur/Laffen/Moderators -
Can we please have a sticky thread at the top of the p800/p900 that simply says this:
"If this is a sticky at the top of the p800/p900 topic list then assume the following:
1) The P series will only take an MS DUO card. Not a normal memory stick.
2) The P series will NOT take MS DUO PRO cards. Or any type of PRO card.
3) The P series will only take cards up to 128MB. No more.
4) There is no normal MS DUO above the size of 128MB. And there never will be.
No arguments!

"
And then can you lock the thread?!

its getting so annoying about the MS DUO cards, theres at least 20 threads where this comes up!

The P900 plays MP3s in stereo, even when using a 2.5 to 3.5mm jack adapter. Therefore the P900 is nearly as good as an Ipod in terms of quality, but lets face the fact its never going to be anywhere near as good for quantity, plus battery life is far better than the P900 can compete with.
The P900 wont replace an Ipod but it will do on the days when pocket space is low.
And has the plus of a speaker for group listening.
