Ben hur is a great movie. Those were thd times! In the past the actors and actrasses played in the films, now stars. Sad. A very interesting film of religion was for me the name of the rose. But the book was much better and amazing. Do like umberto eco! This message was posted from a R520

@bobafett - There were times that I used to like watching old movie flicks, just like what my Mom used to tell me, she just hates watching action-packed films which were made with computer-generated effects. Like when she viewed The Matrix - she just hates it when she sees the actors fighting on the house's ceilings etc. etc. Also, she lamented that during the 40's and 50's, when movies were made it sure will have a cast in the hundreds - 'AT LEAST'. Like in the movie The Ten Commandments and Gone With The Wind. Unlike now, when the movie The Gladiator was made it 'FAKED' the audiences in the Arena, made to believe that there were hundreds of them, but instead only around 50 - computer geeks made it happen !

Im not too much religious but this movie really touch me. It makes of realize how much pain Jesus had. I saw it with my girlfriend and she was crying all the movie. Here in Peru the principal religion is catholic and the movie is sold out every day!! This message was posted from a T300

Btw. I never undestood why to ban a film. It just shows that some1s have to be afraid of sg. To ban sg is an evidence of fear and weakness. This message was posted from a R520

It's not recommended for the
weak-hearted though. To me, it's the ultimate
torture movie, it's two hours of torture...
literally.

We all know what the movie is about. Even if you
don't read the subtitles (yes, it's not English,
it's Aramaic), you will still understand. But
there's really something more to it. We were used
to seeing films & plays about the passion of
Christ, but this is so different. I
think this is the closest interpretation to it.

Only some very minor flaws on effects, but oh
well... those might be intended anyway. You might
not even notice it at all.

Indeed, its very hard to represent phisical passion and pain in a film, especially in case jesus. His suffering to present unreligious ppl afford much. This message was posted from a R520
