So the software is designed to work on many phone models. Simple common sence - get your programmers to create a software set for a range of phones at the same time. Saves time money and allows better tested phones to be brought out providing less bugs.

Guess what the boards in the p900 is a slight revision from the p800 just like the t610 to t630.

I think we need to get mulder and scully out for this conspiricy...

I think we may find it's been discussed a number of times.

Conclusion is usually the same... text labels for more than one phone and function are incorporated in the sw (hey.... itIS the same basic ui those phones use .. )

Excuse a lowly master of science - what is GDFS?

Great Diving Float Service, Global Decision Faking System, Green Dangerous Flashing Strobe, Grand Danois Food Store? (my guess is Firmware, would that be correct?)

Hiding things? They are a business, it's what they do, why should they let you (and their competitors) know they're next move? I wouldn't be surprised if they put things in there to mislead as to what their newer phones will include ;-) This message was posted from a T610

Quotes below taken from the very first message posted in this thread.

QUOTE:
"Well, as I said, I went through every single one on the phone (yes, it's a big list, took me about 5 hours) and made sure that I knew where each one went.............."

Some people just have too much time on their hands!!!

QUOTE:
"I've taken on a personal challenge to see if I can view all of the text labels that I can (not through the menu, but through the natural way). I have been inspired to search out ways for my phone to connect to other devices (or to not connect, so I can see the error labels!!!)! Check it out yourself, and report back!!!............."

Some people are just sad!

why recreate something that already works? instead of creating one new system for each phone it's easier (and cheaper) to use the same core in several models and then optimize it for the specific model. This is used by other phone manufactures as well, and other software development businesses.
