Crap SE software. Havent I been saying this for the past month. The amount of threads on this forum complaining about the above just proves it.

SOunds like outlook to me...
Here's what i do. (windows xp)
Install the p900 suite (the newest),
plug in your usb sync station. drivers shoudl install etc..etc..
(or pair via bt as serial port)
then drop your bad boy in the sync station and it shoudl detect the p900. (with bt just establish connection same thing shoudl occur)
set up the sync functions
and select sync.
works for me all the time.. never had any issue sync ericsson phones..
except the t616 with the com port enable thing.

As a Mac OSX user, I just wish for world peace, love and that all can see how effortless the Mac experience is. I sync calendar and addressbook effortlessly and use the P900 as a GPRS modem, all with nothing to install or fiddle with.
But that doesn't address redtooth's problem (Windows, perhaps?), or his findings that the P900 is rubbish, does it?

OK, firstly it's unlikey to be a handset issue because the phone does not have a username or "password" that get validated in this way.
It could be the OS has restrictions in place, but that normally gives you a different message (something like "This operation has been cancelled due to restriction in effect on this computer") and would normally only apply if the machine connects to a corporate LAN at some point. You say you bought it, so I'm guessing that's not the problem. Check it out if this is a work machine, or if it connects to a company network at any time.
What software are you using to sync? That's important, because if you're doing an online sync (using a SyncML service via the Internet) that could be the problem.
Tell us more about the sync software you're using and we may be able to help.
1..What's the name and version of the software? try right-click and look for properties/about/info... something like that
2..Are you syncing with the cradle, GPRS, Infrared or Bluetooth? (have you tried IR or BT if you're using the cradle?)

Wow!!
So sorry guys, thought I was being helpful...I am no guru, just enjoy the forum.
Have had a few probs with my own set up but it is usually my fault when things go pear shaped!!
I always think I know more than I do and like to share my own experience, I usually make a complete pratt of myself..then I can still laugh at the same time!!

Hey, could you please post your GPRS settings? I can't seem to find a modem script that works.
TIA

Macfreak,
I pretty much went with the settings the BT setup assistant gave me. Only thing I changed was un-check the "Send PPP echo packets".
Is there more help with the settings that you need?
