had my p900 replaced about a month ago with a brand new model after the screen had cracked, delivered on a sunday afternoon and have not been charged for anything. This is on the standard orange care package.

OCS staff do have the authority to waive the fee, especially for "first offences".
I think it was intended to put people off making fraudulent claims, and getting a new phone because their one was showing it's age.... *cough*
