Oh Jesus, I just got my bill from Vodafone, and for the first month that I used GPRS, I was charged 549 Euros. People, this is just an example of what Greece has become. DO NOT come to the Olympics this summer. We, the Greek people, find a way to take advantage of you, and take all of your money, and then probably kick you as we run away to the bank. I am ashamed to be living here. I have the biggest package from Vodafone, the "600" and used 511 KBs. DO NOT COME TO ATHENS THIS SUMMER, OR EVER FOR THAT MATTER!
Edit:Sorry, it was 61 MBs, not 511 KBs. Which still sucks, just like this country does.

Hey dude just calm down! Paying a huge bill has nothing to do with the olympics.. Many persons' lives are reliant on the olympics, by that I mean all the people that are working for the olympics, and you shouldn't discourage others from going for such a reason

They ripped you off. I pay 6 euro a month for unlimited gprs. That is a nice price though my provider also ripped me off yesterday :(

How the hell did you manage to transfer 61 MB of data in one single month?! It took me 335 hours to transfer only 59.3 MB; that's like 14 days non-stop if you'd calculate it! Were you glued to your phone's keypad or something?

@Lundmark
By roaming I mean that I have a Hong Kong Cell phone and I mostly use it for GPRS outside of Hong Kong eg checking email whilst away or writing to my blog. This is charged separately from my "domestic" GPRS use and at a different (much higher) rate.
@everyone
Anyone any advice to cut the costs of GPRS? Seems like some have very reasonable charge rates while others get stung bigtime.

when ornage were doing free GPRS last year i used around 134MB in one month and got a letter from Orange saying i abused their fair usage policy and will not get free GPRS any more. So i just got out my old Oraange PAYG sim and did around 150MB the next month.

all i can say is you need to get a gprs tarif package that suites you, because that seems way too much
