@MikLsp
You need to activate the data GPRS which is called mobile web. O2 has two types of account WAP GPRS and Mobile Web. I don't use the other apps you mentioned but I do use the Worldmate and it need mobile web /data connection to access the currency database.
You can call the o2 data services on this number to activate the data account. 08456006886 . This number might not work now because they have made the data services number a premium rate number but this is the number I used about an year ago to activate mine so if you are lucky you can get away without calling a premium rate number.

OK! Just been to O2 as I have done several time before & they rang O2 Online for me.
Today I was told they are no longer allowed to ring O2 Online & their shop phones have been barred from calling it! She tried anyway but it just kept going to a dialing tone! Apparently its because O2 & O2 Online are two seperate companies.
I think this is just a scam from O2 to make everyone ring them for 50p/min, well I'm not!!
I'll try, as the lady in the shop suggested, contacting them by e-mail later. Hope this works!

Hello,

Anyone having recent problems with checking their mail through o2's wap connection or using third party programs, i.e orange scribble or even profimail?
These programs were working fine up until a week and a half ago, when connecting to Lineone for example the connection just hangs. My partner is also having the exact same problem when checking her work mail through her P800 when this was working fine before.
I have not changed any connection settings and they have been checked, any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you.

@thecopperfield

You can load the hotmail homepage with tht o2 wap gprs settings in opera but you cannot login because the settings block or disable cookies so its pointless.

@vi-vi-vi

Yeah was working fine until a few days ago (cant remember exactly). I tried checking mmy mail using the dial-up settings but it just kept on saying connecting to 'server name'. I even got the settings again from the o2 website and still not working

@all

has anybody else experieced the same problems as vi-vi-vi and I and also is it possible to overcome. please help guys
