I didn't quite understand what you were reaching for when you asked if anyone has tried the software out with GPS. What features of the software would possibly work without a GPS lock? Can you elaborate?

The Wayfinder products has "Points of Interest" like resturants, hotels, petrol stations, etc. I have not tested resturants but I have tested hotels and that works fine. Please remember that Points of Interest have to subscribe to be on the list therfore it will not include all possible places/shops/etc. The other good feature of wayfinder is that you can prepare start points and destinantions (address, post code, etc) on a PC via the internet and then synchronise this data with your Px00.

Compared to an in-car system, a solution based on BT GPS and the Px00 the cost is about 1/3 to 1/4. That seems like good value. As I am a business person, for me to be late to a client visit is not good therefore for me it is a good option. Also note, even dedicated satnav systems cost 2.5 times a Px00 based solution.

Sorry mate sometimes I write without thinking how it sounds. What I was asking for was a sw that allows me to find the way if I dont have an gps. I know that in Sweden for example we have the yellow pages that provides maps on wap for free. But if I want to go from A to B and I dont need (ore cant afford

) an GPS can the systems guide you anyway?
To be clear! Can you get route guidance but without the GPS positioning? And as another dude mention, how much would this cost?
Cheers Big,
Luc

You may also want to have a look at PowerNavigator at
http://www.symbianware.com/do[....]powernavigation_uiq&pl=se_p900
"PowerNavigaton will broaden the capacities of your smartphone in combination with Blutooth GPS receiver device. This application will let you watch direction, movement speed, level of GPS signal and satellites' monitoring, record passed way, create waypoints, tracks and different sound events."
I have used it for some weeks now at it is excellent. However, when testing it in China I found that the track screen had left and right reversed, resulting in a mirror image of my actual route, but I have reported this bug and it should be easily solved.

I believe GPWARE has addressed some features that users have been asking for already.. If only SE marketing field reps could respond to customer needs this fast. More importantly already implemented Euro maps into their system. I believe this has to be the first mobile GPS Navigation application available on two continents. These guys are good! Here are snapshots from my P900:

As long as all these systems depend on a GPRS connection to get the maps they are useless to me... at least here in Italy GPRS is too much expansive. Hope TomTom will produce a system where maps are stored inside the mobile...

@ StarKnight
I agree. I know everyone says, "but the maps would be too big", but personally, I would be quite prepared to fill a large proportion of one of my memory sticks if it mean having scaleable maps / charts.
