whoooa! in the carrier which i am, i don't think it's like that. But anyways imagine if u dial it by mistake and u hang up, they will think it's a prank call and will disconnect u....ooooh that sucks!

what are the odds of dialing 911 'by accident'?
besides.... if you did.... wouldn't you stay on the line, tell them you mis-dialed and then hang up? So they won't have to dispatch emergency services to your last known location? (gotta love cell phones

In greece public phones work with prepaid cards. Anyway i was at holiday at my grandfathers island in a small village and from the public phone calling the ambulance i actually set up a date with one of the girls inside working at the the telephones. Cool. Whe had a nice summer ;-). This summer we will meet again. I love public phones!:-D
