Cheapskate! Ha....I'm not buying a P900 for like £400 just for an upgraded screen and A better look.....besides, I aint got the money...geez, I'm only 16 and I aint got £400 i can just spare

I personally cant see anything wrong with anyone wanting to put a p900 cover on a p800. He might not have a 65k colour screen, but he'll have a much nicer looking phone.

The P800 is minging, I have one and can't wait until I can buy a replacement housing to get rid of the awful girlie blue colour and rounded edge shape, it's a nice phone in a bad cover. if there ends up being an option to replace it with a copy of the 900 (minus the flip) then I will get one, not because I want my phone to pretend to be the P900 but because I dislike the style of the P800.
The P900 isn't enough of an improvement to the P800 to justify selling the P800 and buying a P900 but it is certainly a better looking phone externally.

no, not even a bit like that. the P900 essentially is a P800 in a P900 case, so if SE can do it why not this guy?

When a phone manufacturer designes a handset, it is built with deliberate flaws. Ie the P800 was not designed as well as it could be because SE wanted to have an easy way of improving it a year down the line. The p800 could actually have been made smaller in size but SE like every other electronics manufacturer desided to oversize the product so that when they released the udated ver, they could make it smaller!!
Another example would be microsoft windows or intel. If Intel actually made the fastest possible processor they could and released it tomorrow, it would be ten times faster then anything we have today but that would mean the next chip would be only a little faster. By staggering development, they can be guaranteed to keep churning out new products every year!!

I have both P800 and P900 thank you very much.
But anyway, there are hundreds of examples of similar type things going on all over the world.
Take car modding for example. Loads of people almost totally redesign the body of their car, but underneath it's still the same machine.
PC Case modding as well...
Anyone ever seen Pimp My Ride? They don't do anything to the engine (as far as we're lead to believe) - so while a car may be trashy and rubbish to begin with, its still trashy and rubbish at the end, just with a nicer exterior...
