Skills,

I do not think so. Are you in the US? Try calling your mobile from a landline and prefix it with *67 (block), then your number. The P900 will show UNKNOWN.

I'm in the UK, seems it's different over here as when i block my number and call my p800 it comes up with WITHHELD.

Skills,

Interesting. Would someone from the US market test my theory please.

Use your landline and and call your mobile with prefex *67 (thereby blocking your number). My mobile displays UNKNOWN, what about yours??

Having worked for Cable & Wireless I can confirm that:

WITHHELD means that the carrier has the CLI (Caller Line Identification) but the option for it not to be passed on has been selected.

UNKNOWN means that your carrier could not assertain the CLI of the caller to pass it to you. It may be a foreign call where protocols have not been exchanged properly, or it may be a call put through by the operator, or international operator.

hey sfaguy! i'm in the US and I just called my mobile from a landline using *67 and my mobile displays UNKNOWN.

I get calls from overseas from my family, and most of the time my celfon displays a US-based number. This is because they're using phone cards, and vice-versa when I call them up using a phone card, they see a local number on their caller ID. When they do use their celfones to call me, it displays their actual number.
