i'm on vodafone in ireland and had a few problems with this at first.
maybe there is something for you here.
- i got wap over gprs working and couldn't get the email to connect.
it seems i needed to connect over a different 'gprs account'
i put this to wap being one access gateway billed one way (per page +)
and a generic ISP for internet to allow pop3/imap and http.
what i'm saying is 'internet access' and generic internet (mail, telent etc.) may blocked at the other end to make you connect through a different gateway.
'internet via wap/http' doesn;t have to be the same as say windows TCP/IP internet. they cna use bandwidth saving proxies/gateways.
-i sometimes get the activation problem. but just when abroad on another roaming account.
switching networks seems to work. this may be congestion
-gprs is *way* overpriced. i hope you got someone else to pay.
they have to drop this per kb charges.
