Thanks for that, just uploaded it and tried it out. Better than the 1.5 version I used before but from even a quick 10 minute play around it has a lot of bugs in it that need fixing. Still, a good move forward. I always did like the idea of icons for appointments so you could see them better on the month view.
Also with regards Handyday as apposed to Handydesk, I like the features on Handydesk which do not appear on Handyday's desktop application. These are the links directly to the weekly, monthly views on the calendar, infrared and bluetooth links. It just seems that they've added extra functionality to Handydesk and if they'd put these in handyday2004 I would use that instead. Frustrations I suppose, just looking for perfection from all these products.
I'll keep trialing Aquacalendar for a while

Hi,
Aquacalendar is good and 2.0 is better than 1.5 (a lot better) but there were too many bugs I found. Also sometimes I thinks its just trying to show too much information on the screens especially the 7 day look.
The jog dial works well and I was glad about that but for the moment there are just too many problems with it. I have gone to "Active desk" to solve my immediates problems.
Let's hope Aquacalendar gets those bugs out. I have to admit that that is one good things about Handyday, handydesk etc. that at least when they release software it is usually bug free. Tracker etc. just seem to have too many bugs in them which makes using the programs frustrating.
I suppose had SE created some brilliant software to start with I wouldn't be in the position. Anyway I am sure from the replies that people like different programs for different reasons and that is good.

Aquacalendar 2.0 is not finalised yet. Infact, it is stilll in beta release. The reason why the developer made it available for users because he wants to correct the bugs. It is in beta stage so of course it has some bugs. Remember when HandyDay 2004 was known as HandyDay 5? It was also available as beta and a lot of bugs are available. But when users reported them to the developers via forums, they are corrected.
Dont just complaint or say one product is bad just because you tried the beta and it has a lot of bugs. It is in beta, fer goodness sake.
What is wrong in trying to display many informations in one page (the week view)? If you have been using Aquacalender for a while, do you know that informations can be set under folders? Selecting a particular folder will display contents from that folder only.
If you read the thread carefully, here in Esato and also My-Symbian, many bugs in version 2.0 has been resolved courtesy of reports from users like Hedlasse, Fafner and other users as well.
One good thing about Aquacalendar that I rarely find in other software is the developer himself. He answered the forum, he improved the software, he solved the bugs and he made new beta available once in a while.
IMHO, nothing is perfect. But talking about PIM for Px00, nothing comes close with Aquacalendar in terms of functionality, speed, versatility, personalisation and many more. You have to really use it to love it.

Don't start having a go, I raised the question in the forum to get some feedback from other users. As I said in the previous reply we all like different programs in different way, that's human nature. I never complained about Aquacalendar, I expressed my opinion to another poster who asked me what I thought of the version (yes beta) of the software I download. Yes it has bugs and yes Handyday2004 had bugs originally BUT I am replying to someone now about how I think it is now. Not how it will be once its 99% fixed, now!
I know the software is beta and yes its good that the developer has released it to get feedback and I'm giving my feedback to another poster who asked my opinion.
As far as too much information is concerned, yes I know you can limit the amount of it being displayed under folders, most software on the P900 uses this approach. However, this is not what I was "complaining" about. What I meant was how much information is being displayed per line in the week view. You have to text for an item, plus an icon, plus another icon depicting what kind of appointment entry it is. With this much information it means that your text displayed is very limited. This is what I meant, even in small zoom mode. Like I said at the end we're all different and while some people (obviously you're one of them) likes Aquacalendar there are others that don't and want something either totally or slightly different to suit their needs.
"IMHO, nothing is perfect." - exactly what I was saying.
You also mention about how the Aquacalendar guy has approached his software distribution by taking feedback. Yes that's great but - if you work in the IT world - you must understand that this is also very frustrating and very slack happy. Great have ideas coming in etc. before you start the project and get comments back about bugs but to me there just seemed to be too many. Maybe I'll give it another shot when its pucker released but for the moment I want something that works pretty much 99% of the time.
As I've said throughout we all like different things, this is why there are so many tracker lovers and Handyday lovers. Its a personal thing and the reason for the topic was to express these.
While I take some of your comments onboard others not as you. Stop complaining about postings. Postings are there to express opinions which we all have.
Hopefully Aqua gets there,
M.
