Not to sound too cynical now, but I don't see the immediate need to move 10 meters away from my phone when I want to type a message Of course slightly exaggerated, but true!

The benefit is having a QWERTY keyboard, no wires, and pocket-able for easy carrying-it-around-between-uses (sorry, got loads of hyphens to use up before the end of the month)

Being 10 meters away will require my new Bluetooth-compatible Enhanced Vision Device (AKA binoculars), $1000 in most good stores

I like it though. £80 is a bit much, but if the initial reviews are good I'm might be buying...

exactly!
That's why I am pointing out that an IR keyboard has also these advantages plus the facts that you can still use your BT then.

A qwerty keyboard for your phone is when you are used to it absolute handy.
Sitting in the garden, enjoying the sun and typing away on my keyboard for my phone. This is what I always wanted

Hehe! I do see your oh so cynical point, Jan but the fact remains, the phone still have to sitt on the stand and lined up with the IR eye for it to work.
With the BT, the possition of the phone is irrelevant, providing it is within 10 meters ofcourse. =)

But again, could anyone explain to a happy amature like myself why an advaced mobile device like the P900 can only benefit from a single BT conection at any given point in time?

Probably for the same reason that it cant support more than 128Mb, cant natively handle faxes, cant record voice calls, cant change file-type associations... and so on

Wile we are on the subject, I saw this http://www.mobileburn.com/review.jsp?Id=764 at Mobileburn, any thoughts on compatability and/or drivers for the Px00?

It's not just the p9 that can't handle more than one bluetooth action/connection at the time (use your keyboard and send some files) it's just that bluetooth version 1.1(which is the latest one) can't handle more than one connection/action at the time.

However, the guyd who came up/invented/developped bluetooth are working on a new version which can handle multiple connections/actions at the time. They are also increasing the transferspeed....so good news ha.

sorry to bring back this old topic but i just reviewed this keyboard and didn't want to start a new topic.

the thing is just so cool, so bluetooth just one conclusion: it feels just like typing on a normal laptop computer.
