I have to agree, if one is paying the equivalent of £450 or so for a mobile phone then I think it is a jolly good idea to purchase some insurance for it.

Not worth paying insurance for. It's just a cell phone.

They aren't giving P900s away for free (with contract) here in the US so after spending about 5-times more on this phone than any other phone I've ever bought, insurance is worth it. They're still going for about 775 to 800 USD here. Not too cheap.

I paid over $1500 for my P900 in the States and $1000 for my P800 when I was in Amsterdam. I didn't think the prices were outrageous considering the value of the item was greatly affected supply and demand. So I paid for a cell phone with an inflated price above retail value, but at least I got what I wanted when I wanted it. That said, I realized that I only paid for a cell phone and I'll continue to do it time and time again. I don't consider mobile phones under $2k is worth the insurance being that the turn over rate is going to be high. The going price of the P900 at the time didn't deter me from purchasing it even though I had a fairly new P800 that was still popular. I still have my P800 even though I haven't used it since I got my P900 in mid October of last year. It stays in the cupboard with all my other cell phones which will still just be cell phones... My opinion.

If you are on T-Mobile, you can get insurance through Asurion. They will insure any phone (not only T-Mobile furnished ones) up to $1000, as long as you are a T-Mobile customer (with a $35 deductible).

Call Asurion at (888) 805-3366.

I agree T-Mobile offers insurance, but there is a catch to it. The insurance offered by Asureon does not cover replacing a P900, if lost, by a new P900. They will give you a comparable phone that T-Mobile carries which can be a Nokia 6600 or Samsung E715, which in my opinion does not come even close to a P900.

I am not sure what will Asureon do if the P900 is damaged. Will they repair the P900 or will they find it cheaper to replace it with one of the cheaper models that they carry?
The cheapest quote I have received on the LCD for the P900 is $200, that too by Sony Ericsson. T-Mobile just might find it cheaper to exchange the P900 with one of their models.

Has anyone used Asureon for replacing or repairing their phone, esp the P800 or P900?

Kush is right - I was paying the $5\month until I learned they would not replace my P900.

This is a new piece of information to me. I spoke to them and they said ANY phone up to $1000 - I repeatedly asked them that. Does that mean they are misleading the customers?
