@power egg: You should've got an official quote for the repair before you actually got it done, that way the garage would have had to foot the bill themselves as they have to charge the quoted price. Even so, I think it was well out of order to charge for a repair they said would be free, I would've refused to pay and called my lawyer!
Back on topic: I got my firmware upgraded at a Carphone Warehouse near me two days ago and it was free
They only put R1L on though, I was hoping for R6B
