I am sorry, this is probably a stupid question, but how do you discharge a phone using the desktop charger provided by SE?

Cheers,
Anissa

Well Anissa,
A desktop charger can only be used to charge the batterie. To discharge the batterie you just need to keep using your phone.

Just that simple, eh? *LOL* I am laughing at my own stupidity now.

But something very strange happened to my P900 once when I left it in its cradle overnight. The phone was fully charged so I switched off the power switch. The next morning when I looked at it again, guess what??!! The battery was FLAT! I couldn't even on the phone. After that I just thought perhaps the phone will automatically discharge itself after it is fully charge if I don't remove it from the cradle.

@Anissa li-pol batteries doesnt need to be discharged, exept at the first 2 or 3 times after buying the fone. The battery stand by and talk time will be from time to time better, so u should charge it whenever u want. This message was posted from a T630

Old /// desktop chargers, intended for the S 868 and the SH 888 phones amongst others, using NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) batteries, had a button that could be pushed to first discharge the battery and then recharge it again.

But that's probably ancient history by now... Those were the days...

maybe someone can explain this to me...

i charge my phone every night when i go to bed. in the morning when i check the battery status, sometime it says 96%, 98%, 99%, 100%.

if i leave it to charge overnight everynight (at least 6 hours), why shouldn't it show 100% everytime. this is really a mystery to me.

St0Ne,

thanks for the reply and the link - very interesting thread. i am really not too concern when i see 99% vs. 100%, but i do see 96% & 98% sometime after a full charge over night.

also, someone mentioned one should charge when it gets down to 10%, but with the type of battery for the P900 , i doubted it matters when you charge since it will not degrade the battery in anyway. well, as least this is what i'd read for this type of battery.

thanks again.

That was what I thought too but how do you explain what happened to me? I went to bed at around 5 am and my battery was still fully charged. When I woke up at 7 am, it was flat???
