I talked to S//E support yesterday about this - and the answer was it only plays .aac as audiotrack in a videofile.

I have the entire album Dark Side of The Moon in mp4 format and its only 19.3 mb.
I used dbpoweramp to rip from cd to aac @64kbps and then used the aac to mp4 converter.
Sound quality is acceptable.
