Is there a similar program to ezitap that works with the character recognition rather than the keyboard, similar to Pocket PCs.

@robcoh,
not that i know of, but other may know something i don't the only problem i see using ezitap with handwriting mode is that, as you stated, the handwriting recognition often comes back with the wrong letter unless you have the form down to the T. with that in mind, you may get the wrong words more often than you would like.
i swear i can never get the 'i' the first time. can you?

Hey guys!
Have you seen new BenQ p30 with symbian 7.0 and uiq2.1?
It's got new handwriting recognition engine:
The P30 provides advanced handwriting recognition based on smARTwriter engine from Advanced Recognition Technologies. Unlike P900's letter-by-letter input, the P30 allows you to write full words or sentences - you can even fill the entire screen. Recognition starts only after you make a pause (which can be set to either short, medium or long). You can also customize the color of your handwriting, line thickness and whether to automatically add a space at the end or not.
If that's not enough for you, we've got even more good news: the P30 allows you to teach it how to correctly recognize your handwriting. The Personalize option of handwriting configuration lets you draw each single character and add it to the HWR database. From now on the phone will be using your own patterns instead of the standard ones.
This engine you can purchased from

Just e-maild to SE asking if then can put this engine in the next firmware updates. I'm not quite sure if it is going to work, but if the whole P900 community will mail them asking to give this to us it might work.
Thanks
Denk

here is their reply
Thank you for contacting the Sony Ericsson Call Center.
Custom hand writing programs may well be able to be used ti
the Px00 series of phones however would need to be
specifically made to work with it. When the phones were
designed we had gone with the Jotpro system which is quite
similar to the palm recognition software.
One consideratoin to why software is and isn't used at release
is memory.
