The K700i is so much more than an upgrade in camera and added video to the T610. How can you say that? Read and observe. So much more than that. This message was posted from a T310

lol

The_Hammer, make your self a favour and buy an organizer, a pocket pc or a Palm. The k700 is a phone targeted at the youth market and its not a business phone or an organizer.

I agree with Steve. K700 (esp on Orange) has not got the full functionality of my T610, also has very poor battery life (even just texting and calls-not using mp3s, camera etc) the screen scratches far more easily and wap browser performance is slower in direct comparison. The "company" field does not sync using iSync on Mac OS X either. If I understand you correctly, this problem exists also when synching with MS Outlook.

Can you confirm this?

Because I thought it was an issue unique to Apple -- but now it looks like it is a Sony-Ericsson issue.

It sounds as if this may be an Orange UK fault with the K700i.

It makes you wonder why no one in-house picked up on these problems.

As suggested above the easiest way to sort out the Company Field is to paste the details into the Name Field as well.

Now I have returned my phone I'm unable to try out things mentioned above but one thing is certain that the calendar function is less intelligent than the one on the T610. And Orange have even admitted that to me now but have no plans to upgrade any software. They admit that the phone is a step backwards as far as the functions go.

So the bottom line is....... If you want to get an improved camera on your phone go ahead and upgrade to the K700i - the camera is much much better. But if you use the contacts and calendar functions with Outlook DON'T....you'll regret it.

Many thanks to you all,

Steve

@ patrick.robson
Any phone will scratch easily, likewise any phone will remain unscratched it all depends how u use it!!
Also are u being serious about the WAP? The K700 is WAY faster than T6x0. In fact for d/loads it is nearly keeping up with my P900!

@ The_Hammer
at least now the phone may go to someone who appreciates it!

I got the new k700i because I thought it was a better camera (with a zoom function). however I can only use the 'zoom' on the video camera. Is this correct? Also i can only get it to zoom to X2 not X4 like it says on the back.

Am I being stupid? Please tell me is I am....and laugh

If you reduce the picture size to the smallest you can zoom x2 and x4, but only on that size. On the middle size you can only zoom x2 and on 640x480 you can't zoom at all.

Hope that helps
