Why not get the one that works and take the ear buds off it and put the ones you like on it? Thats what i plan to do!

Because my previous soldering experience isn't all that great!
Even though I am qualified in it, I just cant work with the wire in headphones. Needs a lot of heat and a lot of flux, and has that damned nylon braiding in it.

I don't want to end up wrecking two pairs of headphones which each in their own way are very important!

Ok, here's a solution:

Mobilefun do an adaptor for universal 2.5mm headsets:

http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/2230.htm

And also a 2.5mm to 3.5 mm adaptor:

http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/3763.htm

Combine the two, and you should be in comfy-headphone heaven!

My g/f is getting a K700i on Saturday, and I already have the second adaptor for my P900, so I'll get the other one and give it a try.

I tried the suggestion by Qwerty_uk, but unfortunately sound is only in mono. Looks like I'll be sending the two adapters back!

Did anyone find a better option?

What do you mean jetish? The adaptor is stereo you can tell by looking at it :-|

internally it doesn't support the extra audio channel. I have a similar plug, and it isn't stereo. How can you tell by looking at it? You can only tell by seeing inside, which I did in mine, and there are only connections for the one ear bud, mike and answer button. There is no wire connected for the second audio channel.

I think pin 6 maybe the correct one, but how to wire it into the adapter I'm not sure yet. I started this post about the very same thing http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=67675#post1179570
and have had some replies, but nothing conclusive yet.

@Dazultra2000, keep an eye on my thread, if I find a solution I'll post it there.
