Well symbian has released v8. And what i can tell from the screenshots from the p910, the interface looks alot better. But i can't confirm if the p910 will come shipped with v8.0.

Some reading on Symbian v8.0

And just by the way, what crucial files are in the system directory in c: then. I have perfect read/write access to this. So i ask the question again. What happens if i delete a crucial file in this drive?

What u seem to be missing is, although you can delete all system files you want from C, the actual OS is stored in Rom in A & Z, they cannot be written to without eprom software/tools, So all u.can do is hope SE incorporate it, chances are next SE will have. it.

From what I read the P910 ships with Symbian 7 and the UIQ interface is 2.1...

The P900 has UIQ 2.0 interface.

Which might be upgradable on the P900, it is really upto SonyEricsson if they will allow this or not...

i dont think they will allow this unless the rumours that p900 production has stopped. if Se go on producing the p900 then an upgrade of the OS would stop people from buying the p910.

P800 owners clamoured for an upgrade to UIQ2 when the P900 was released; SE refused. They'll refuse this too. If you want the latest features, you have to buy the latest phone.

Well, in south africa, Vodacom has officially stated that SE has stopped production on the p900, and started pulling all p900 phones back. Vodacom says that the p910 with be here by August/September.

But if the p910 comes shipped with symbian 7, then why does the interface look completely different to the p910? Is this because of UIQ 2.1?
